May 20 – 9am – Explore OHC’s Tribbett Woods Preserve

Date:
Time:

Update: Today’s heavy rain mean that this hike will be extremely wet. If you still want to go, Paul Carmony, will still meet at the Commiskey Post Office at 9am, but wear tall boots…this “flatwoods” has heavy loess soils (shaped by the last glacier) that sit wet all spring, even without a downpour like we had today!

This lovely, old flatwoods exemplifies the forests of pre-settlement Indiana. Meet at the Post Office in Commiskey to carpool. Come ready to explore this trail-less forest.

This event is part of our Great Events in the Great Outdoors series. We’ve teamed up with five other conservation-minded groups and we couldn’t be happier about this diverse list of activities. Be sure to check out other events on the calendar. They continue throughout the Spring (canoe trips! fossil hunts! bike rides!). We hope you’ll join us for one of these fun, hands-on programs.
