May 14 – Weed Wrangle Indiana® at Lebline Woods Nature Preserve

The bluebells at Lebline Woods Nature Preserve cover the forest floor each April – – but an invasive vine is trying to crowd them out! Join us on May 14 for a Weed Wrangle Indiana® event to help fight the winter creeper vine and protect the Bluebells!

You’ll join a crew of volunteers from the United Way Day of Caring. We’ll break into small groups, and we’ll have projects for folks who want to get especially physical – and others who would rather do hand work, cutting smaller vines off of the trees.

Come ready for a day in the woods – bring a hat, long pants, close toed shoes, gloves, and hand lopers if you have a sturdy pair – plus of course bug spray, a water bottle, snacks, and a picnic lunch.

Our nature preserve is just north Seymour, Indiana. There is no parking area at the site, so we’ll meet first thing in the morning (likely 7am to beat the heat!) at the Southern Indiana Center for the Arts (92001 N Ewing St, Seymour, IN 47274). We’ll carpool and caravan to the preserve to save on parking space.

If you’re interested in volunteering, please RSVP by emailing [email protected]. We want to make sure we have enough tools and gear on hand!
