October 8 – Trail Grand Opening and Ribbon Cutting Celebration!

Date:
Time: to

Help us celebrate our newest nature trail! We invite you to join us Saturday October 8 at 1:00 pm to cut the ribbon and hike Hilltop Farm Nature Preserve. The new trail provides for a 1.3-mile hike through wooded hillsides chock-full of black walnut, white oak, shagbark hickory and pawpaw. This new Upper Loop trail connects to the existing 1.6-mile Lower Loop that encircles a 19-acre pollinator field. Combining both loops provides hikers with a 2.5-mile round trip hike. Both loops are rated easy to moderate in difficulty. This trail construction project is part of Oak Heritage’s latest effort to make our fifteen nature preserves more welcoming to people.

Meet Oak Heritage Board members and staff and learn more about Oak Heritage and the recent projects completed at Hilltop Preserve. The Trail Grand Opening will start with a ribbon cutting at 1:00 pm. Following a brief ceremony, Oak Heritage staff and volunteers will lead a family friendly hike through the wooded hillsides and pollinator habitat at Hilltop.

We’ll meet at the trailhead parking area located at Hilltop Farm Nature Preserve trailhead located at 28797 Stout Road, West Harrison, IN 47060. Parking area is limited so, carpooling is recommended.

NOTE: This preserve includes wooded hillsides and field areas.
